Gibraltar’s sailing schools, diving groups and adventure experience providers – busy at most times of the year – get seriously active taking groups of the more intrepid adventure lovers out into the open sea. Surfing at the coastline of our eastern beaches, stand up paddle boarding round the coast to experience some stunning views of the Rock and its awesome cave formations from the surface of the sea, exploring Gibraltar’s underwater world that is teeming with natural beauty, or taking a trip out into the Strait to sail alongside schools of playing dolphin: all of these activities are readily available to short stay visitors and tourists enjoy taking full advantage of the milder, longer days. - Upper Rock tours light up for nature lovers
The Rock of Gibraltar is an iconic fortress and Upper Rock tours include visits to some of Gibraltar ancient fortifications and the more modern military installations such as O’Hara’s Battery. In March, many visitors also enjoy exposure to the Rock’s unique natural environment during their upper Rock tours. March is the time of the spring migration, and Gibraltar forms a natural roosting point for birds that have flown for thousands of miles on their trip north to breed. And we must mention the world-famous Barbary Macaques, perennially fascinating to tourists. - Never mind the weather – there’s loads to do indoors
We could talk about the fine dining in Gibraltar’s excellent restaurants, relaxing beauty spas or the excitement of the night life at our clubs, casinos and live music venues, and these are all good reasons to enjoy a weekend disconnecting from the world of work and winter.
